What grades of air filters are there?

An air filter is a device composed of fibrous or porous material that removes solid particles such as dust, pollen, mold and bacteria from the air. Filters containing adsorbents or catalysts can also remove odors and gaseous pollutants.

Classification of air filters:

Generally speaking, air filters can be divided into primary filters, medium efficiency filters and high efficiency filters according to filtration efficiency.

1: Primary Air filter: suitable for pre-filtration of central air conditioning and ventilation systems, mainly used to filter dust particles above 5um, and the filter material is generally non-woven, metal empty mesh, activated carbon particles, nylon mesh, etc.
Features: Lower price, light weight, good versatility and compact structure.

2: Medium-efficiency Air filter: suitable for intermediate-level filtration of central air conditioning and ventilation systems, mainly used to filter 1-5um particulate dust and various suspended solids. The filter materials are generally composite non-woven fabrics, synthetic fibers, glass fibers, etc.
Features: Large windward surface, low resistance, high dust holding capacity and long service life.

3: High-efficiency Air filter: It is suitable for the terminal filtration of central air conditioning and ventilation systems, and is mainly used to filter fine particles above 0.5um. The filter material is generally high-performance melt-blown non-woven fabric, ultra-fine fiber glass filter paper, etc.
Features: high filtration efficiency, stable structure, high dust holding capacity and long service life.
